2024 Review

Not by me, but I thought this was fair and accurate review of the dim at the moment.

I agree with you Ben, I have not been very active in MS2024 as waiting for developers to release updated aircraft. One I am wanting soon is the Black Box Islander which I love flying but so far I have been unable to find out if it has been updated to MS2024.

One other annoying thing is when flying I get a lot of windshield reflections and still trying to find a way of stopping it.

Looks a reasonably accurate review.

I'm not doing much with FS24 at the moment, but that will change once Just Flight has updated their products for the new sim. The Vulcan, Hawk, Tomahawk, Arrow 3, and BAe146 will cover all my basic needs, along with the Black Box Islander and A2A Comanche. I can happily wait for other developers to go through their lists as and when. Like you, Nigel, I look forward to the Islander - I've been flying that aircraft more than ever in FS20.

Blackbox are working through theirs, to make them compatible rather than rebuilds, and obviously they’ll be free updates. Last I think Graham said he hoped to have some done within a few weeks, so maybe the first half of Feb.
JF have the Hawk nearly done, i think possibly this week if I remember rightly, not sure about the others though, other than that they are working on them.

Altogether good news Ben, I know Just flight have a bit of work on updating theirs before being ready however, all this delay I believe is through MS not releasing some of the coding for developers before the actual release of 2024 so I don't really think they have done themselves a favour.

Still, the graphics are so much better than 2020 and can think that MS2024 will only get better.

Nigel.

I'm looking forward to JF's non-turbo Arrow 3 so that I can complete my RTW trip. After finishing the MacRobertson Air Race route, I flew north and east as far as the Kuriles, where G-OPVK now sits in the weeds at Severo-Kuril'SK USEK aerodrome.

I got side-tracked with all the superb aircraft that have been released for FS20, but the new scenery in FS24 is firing my enthusiasm to finish my circumcision of the globe.

Looking forward to more updates Paul. I think I might do a Joe and do a round the world, but time is precious and I like to get the next big update on before I mage a start on anything significant. I quite fancy a round South America and a round Africa as I’ve done little or no flying in either.

Ben, there's an FS20/24 Mew Gull available at Flightsim.TO if you fancy UK to Cape Town and back ;)

You have to do it real time, of course!

Saw this over on the FS forum, Jan has been busy with his paint brushes. It looks good to me, have you tried it yet?

I did a couple of circuits of Duxford, and it flies very nicely - quite easy to land too. Well worth getting, though I doubt I'll be doing anything long-distance in it.
