Yes, the "Nandi" referred to is infact NFFN Nadi. Incidently, when migrating to Oz in Nov '71 we flew VH-EAE 707 (City of Brisbane) London-Bermuda-Nassau-Mexico-Accapulco-Tahiti-Fiji-Sydney-Melb-Perth..that was a real milk run, lol

Edited to add not sure of the exact order if these destinations as carnt find a world map to see, but we landed at all those on the journey...a bonus for an aircraft nut 10 yr old on his FIRST flight

When we flew there in the 70s, it was spelt Nadi but pronounced Nandi. So I expect to avoid confusion some people decided to spell it phonetically. :roll: It's like driving on the left side of the road. It only works if everybody does the same.

As we were never totally sure of the pronuciation we just called it Fiji.
