S'cuse me for nosing in on this!!!!

As I understand, the Lancs undercarriage is different from other aircraft in that it had bungees (if that's how it is spelt) and because of this it was a difficult aircraft to land often giving a kangaroo effect on touchdown.......From what I've heard is if you try and three point a Lanc the result will be for it to balloon into the air again unless of course the airspeed is very low (near the stall) which is highly unrecommended.

When I used to fly the Auster it had bungees on its undercarriage and therefore it was quite tricky to get down without the odd kangeroo hop until you gained experience, but certainly in higher winds one would get the main wheels on the ground first and sod the three pointer exercise!!
I used to be an optimist but with age I am now a grumpy old pessimist.

The Lancaster undercarriage used standard oleos... no bungees in there.

The Mosquito used rubber blocks, rather than the usual oleos - except on the Sea Mosquito which needed a longer travel for carrier landings.
