Testing the Seamew

Can anyone tell me if one can convert an RN Escort carrier designed for CF2(?) to a static landable flight deck in FS9 so that I could continue to test a Seamew with new acft and AIR files.

Better still a conversion to an AI carrier with landable deck so that as a training unit she could continuously circuit the UK!

Testing a Seamew

I found the current HMS Ocean with a 600ft flightdeck on the web by John Young ocn_jy2.zip, not an Escort Carrier but suitable for my purpose. I had to use afcad to install a VOR/DME and an NDB because although those navaids were supposed to be in the ocn_jy2.zip they were not there in my download.

Must refine own landing technique because at present I keep striking the 'round down' with the u/c!!! The panel I am using has an extended downward viewing angle which may need to be adjusted, funny because I land OK on any airfield!

Sorry, missed this thread first time around.
What is the carrier you are after converting? I've successfully converted HMS Hermes from CFS2 to FS9, so I could have a go for you.

Seamew testing

HMS Attacker is a CFS2 carrier attacker.zip. The Seamew was designed to operate from such carriers.
A light fleet carrier such as HMS Ocean, Theseus, Glory & Triumph all 'Colossus' class British carriers would reflect the carriers in service in the 1950s so any Light Fleet carrier of that period, British or American wouldbe useful, RN preferred but idf push had come to shove in the latter part of the 1950s I am pretty sure that just as before the RN would have used Americn built ships just as they used Avengers and the RAF used Sabres while waiting for Hunters.

Any advice and guidance for converting carriers would be appreciated. Many thanks.

I understand that it is impossible to have landable carriers which can move in FS9 so instead of one carrier circuiting UK waters I think that I shall have to have four or five static carriers in the seas around our shores.

I'll download the carrier and have a look to see if it can be converted, then if succesful, I'll send it to you with instructions on how to do it yourself in future.
