I use Avast for my antivirus, easy to use, free for home use and it's as good as Norton...

S&D can sometimes appear to be doing nothing, when in actual fact, it is fighting to remove something stubborn.
I tend to leave it to it's own devices, and get some lunch etc.

It's normally moved on by the time I get back.

Yeah...I use Avast! and I must say I'm delighted with it after that intrusive McAfee rubbish...My wife uses Norton's on her laptop and I have to keep it serviced for her...I'm not impressed with that either.

Don't know if any of you use CrapCleaner:-

Google for "CCleaner"...A really excellent free program with frequent updates.
