Ian MacFarlane pics

Post by Garry Russell »

I noticed today that Ian MacFarlane seems to have started uploading some of his pics to Airliners.Net

This will be a well known name to many of the more mature members by his regular contribution to Air Pictorial and others or many years.

Newcastle based, there are a lot of interesting pics from there and elsewhere that I have seen over the years.

Worth keeping a eye on

Hi Garry,

I have never heard of the aforementioned Gentleman being only a mere youngster an all(!), but the sample shown on your link sure look fantastic.

That name is probably one that will stick in my head from now on.

Seeing those pictures has reminded me just how good looking the Hermes actually was!

Cheers

He is certainly one of those names where the name alone is enough of a guarantee.

Throughout the sixties and beyond his pictures were used far and wide and were good quality at a time when such quality was rare.

Lovely stuff

I thought you might have a Dove paint on your hands until I opened the shot to find it was a Heron!! You never know, we may have one of those to play with one day

I must say Dave..the fact that the last two Dove paints I did are easily and quicky adaptable to a Heron should a sudden need should ever arise, was, of course pure coincidence :worried:

Few pics of BKS Lizzies exist that show the livery off to it's full outlined glory
