FS9 CTD on booked flight

Post by John R »

Hello Everyone,

Just started to do a booked flight, when I had a CTD (crash to desktop) while waiting for takeoff clearance.
Flynet reported a return to booked status, but I need to know how long I've got to re-fly the flight.

thanks

Hi John,

You'll get 24hrs from when you made the original booking.

Hi John

I think you still have 24 hours from the time it was originally booked.
Don't think it resets the time limit, but I'm not 100% sure.

Thanks for the replies chaps.

Unfortunately I was redoing the flight again tonight, and guess what, a half hour in and CTD, :dunno:

I've not installed anything new lately, so I at a loss for the time being

I'm going to haft to take a rain check until I find out what causing the crash.

Thanks again

Hi John

Try disabling any add-on scenery/extra bgl files you may have.

Well after some successful test flights, I decided to do a full planned flight, and you guessed it, CTD :-({|=

It's tripping up on the 'ATC.DLL' or so the report to MS says. I've got a few AI running around, so I must have a corrupt one somewhere.

I bit more looking into I think.

I might try VATSIM again, will be on my own from the VA?

No, you can fly on VATSIM while with CBFS. I fly VATSIM whenever I'm flying FS with very few exceptions. If I'm flying for either CBFS or vUSAF, it's always online.

Thanks Chris,

It's a while since I was online, I think due to the lack of knowledge of older types.
But I do remember the camaraderie between the 'classic' types which was excellent.

Sorry for the thread drift, but do we have our own call-sign and flight no. ID? Is flynet ok operating along side SB3 etc.?

Yes, it works fine.

On VATSIM, they reccomend that you use your VA's ICAO (in our case, CBF) and your pilot number (in my case 114) to identify yourself when flying online for ease of tracking by VA management, but you can also just use your VA's ICAO and flight number you're flying (which is more realistic). As FlyNET flights all have flight numbers, it's all pretty straightforward.
