Hi Colin
I now have mine set on 50 brightness as like you i found it very bright indeed.
Use the digital cable (60 hz) and set it to 1680 x 1050 32 bit colour.
Don't worry about the 60 hz as the digital signal is perfect.

My Samsung sm913n was brighter then the sun the first time I turned it on!
Error 482: Somebody shot the server with a 12 gauge.

Hi Colin
you will find that the bright as the sun bit tones down a little after a couple of weeks use but i know what Johnsey means as first time i switched it on i needed a welding mask!
