Paul K, It was Belfast Aldergrove, Istanbull, Bombay, Singapore out on British Eagle.
Return due to the India Pakistan punch up starting while we were in Borneo was Singapore, Colombo, Bahrein. Istanbull, Belfast Aldergrove.
The Belfas bit was because we were resident armoured car regiment in NI and deployed 2 squadrons to Borneo for 6 months each, think it was 2 squadrons doing 6 months each was because the max unacompanied deployment was 9 months

Rich wrote:Leif, I never saw a Single Pin in the flesh so to speak but saw loads of Twin Pins flying around in Aden, maybe the single had the edge being lighter,
When we lived at Benson there were quite a few Single Pins flying through, but I wasn't sure where they were going to. I'm sure they wouldn't have flown out to the Middle East or Malaya without being carried in something big.
At one BoB display there two Single Pins took off
across the main ramp to demonstrate how short their take-off run was. I'd estimate they lifted off at well under 50 kts. maybe as slow as 35. They looked decidedly silly seemingly just hanging in the air about 200 yards out from the Control Tower. Made an interesting change from M 0.999 flypasses by Hunters etc.

They used to do Farnborough displays where they would take of well within the length of the runway end 'piano keys'
Later the Twin Pins did much the same
