That Kiev camera (35 mm range finder) is from the same era as the Zenith SLRs.

I still have my Zenith B and Zenith E - even though I will never use them again, I can't quite bear to get rid of them. Perhaps I can combine with a couple of old Nokias as well.

But the Soligor 450mm lens I used in those days works fine in manual mode on my Nikon D70s!

Yes indeed Ian. I remember one of the drawbacks of the day were that although the camera was cheap.. the Nikon thread made buying lenses prohibitive. Like you, I have a couple of Zenith's still kicking around and in good working order though they'll never be used again. I wonder just how many of these things are still in circulation :think:

There are always a few on Ebay which, if they go at all, go for peanuts. But just smell those leather cases!

My Zenith both had M42 Pentax threads so a £6 conversion ring let me try my Soligor lens - surprising it worked fine and pictures looked ok. A zoom lens from the same era was naff. A similar 400mm Soligor went for £36 recently on Ebay so worth more than the pair of cameras.

Pity I already have a 450mm mirror lens from my OM-10. And a 450mm on a digital is 675mm equivalent on a 35mm. But I'll be keeping the Soligor lens even if I dump the cameras.

I've still got a Soligor 200mm f3.5 for my OM10 which is probably worth nada now. Not a bad lens either to all intents. Works ok with a smaller converter but I found the viewfinder a little dark with a 2x fitted. I don't think the viewfinders on OM10's were particularly bright anyway :roll:
