Thanks for that Chris

As you say, nothing outstanding but better than nowt and there aren't many airshows you can go to and park on the footpath at the end of the runway or watch the display FOC
Dunno where that chap in the link got his info from but I was there at 1220 and things started at 1400 :o GR4 didn't land (did 3 passes).. no Sentry.. no Sentinel.. no Harrier/s. Lost the will to live at 4:15 so came home. I now have the Typhoon flying overhead doing more than it did earlier

Not the most inspiring display I've seen but it got me out of the pub for 4hrs

Yes...well.....It certainly wasn't worth having the day off for! :brick:
Was it worth the Typhoon/Tornado coming down all this way just for that? Apart from those, all we got was a single-engine prop type, then another, then another.... |-)
I just don't think there's enough budget to pay for these things anymore. Especially as they can't allow the public in because the insurance is too high. I wish I'd have gone to the one a couple of years ago, now. From what I heard it was MUCH, much better.

Hello mate,
Yes.. the one a couple of years ago was head and shoulders better than todays affair :-( Had it not been for the fact that I was on the mobile to SWMBO, I might have missed valuable seconds of the Tornado's brief show. She said 'Something loud has just gone over and it's heading your way'

Needless to say, I was looking in the right direction

Unless the Tonka diverted while enroute, it certainly wasn't worth what it must have cost in fuel to get down there and sod off again sharpish. The Extra gave a spirited display. Can't recall ANYTHING flying that low without having landed

As for the rest.. well, thank goodness it was free (for us). I'm sure the Tutor is a great deal of fun to be in but to watch it display is a bit like waiting for a kettle to boil :-(
Will have to check and see if the shot of a Red Kite I took came out ok

Never mind Chris. Tks for the HU anyway and let's hope for better things next time ;-)
EDIT.. No Chris, even the Red Kite shot was rubbish!

I am sure the quality of the display will have gone a long way to improving the morale of the families and their loved ones still left in 'the mob'. I think we tax payers (yes, I still pay a little tax to grumpy Gordon) should be happy that little money is being squandered on this sort of frivolity
