Lol! STUPID

I've had a terrible time with Radar Contact on FS9, always telling me I am off course when Im not. It is much better than FS9 default ATC. I'm using FlyNet online with VATSIM and taking my chances with live ATC, ;-) I've got to say, 'live' really cant be beat!! And it doesn't interfere with FlyNet in the least.

Since joining you guys on FlyNet the other week, I have got to say, I am unlikely to ever run FS Passengers again, Ive had it for years, the sound effects are quite atmospheric but some of the silly penalties, especially transition altitude can be very annoying.

I guess in summary I find Radar Contact and FS Passengers just too inflexible.

FSNav, Active Sky are invaluable and if going online with Vatsim, Vroute is a brighter, cleverer version of the fantastic Servinfo.

Just my tuppence worth.

Yes it is I and this is one of the more 'refined' places l hang around, the others being a little less salubrious LOL.

You wont go wrong here for UK stuff, cant really advise for FSx as l'm still stuck in FS9.....which kind of makes it hard to study for TSx, maybe that will be the spark I need to convert, but FS9 whilst deficient to FSx in some ways, does still have a lot more to offer in terms of addons and scenery and utilities etc.

LOL. I wish I got a quid for every time I heard that claim - the "...when I'm not" bit that is - I'd be a very rich man. The other one that often comes up (and is equally incorrect) is "RC keeps telling me I'm at the wrong altitude, when I'm not."

LOL, I bet it is, I have not tinkered with the settings at all, as I know you can as I either use FSNav to navigate heading or the CIVA INS system which is ultra accurate.

Ive had the altitude, thats always been due to not setting qnh.

If you use Real Weather then the altimeter setting will change with the met zones you fly through. you should make a habit of pressing "B" every time you check in on a new frequency and this should keep you at the right altitude...Naturally if you fly above 18000 feet in the Flight Levels, then you won't have this problem as when you press "B" it will automatically set 1013 mbs and there will be no further need to change it till you descend below 18,000 feet again and return from Flight Levels to Altitudes. Of course, if you want to mess with all the various Transition Altitudes around Europe then you will have to twiddle the altimeter knob as the "B" key is set for Transition at 18000 feet in Flight Simulator (it being and American program)...I just accept a universal Transition of 18000 and never have any problems. But I NEVER fly on line
