Hi Brian,

Thanks for that...I've been meaning to update the '42 for a long time..at least I now have the impetus to..well,..think about it....

'Would passengers seated by the bulkhead please keep an eye on the engine oil pressure and temperature gauges just above your head......'

Really was travelling in style :)

No worries that it was slow.....who'd want to be in a hurry

It's like the old BEA Silver Wing service on the Elizabethan. Very few pax.. loads of cabin crew and the pilots often just dossed around rather than have to hurry the passengers into finishing their food!

Travelling in style indeed....

The stewards were rushed though...only just managing to serve coffee on approach, after a seven-course lunch on a flight from Croydon to Cologne :o On the Empire flights passengers were invited to the Captain's table, and passengers would book to fly with specific Captains....

Those were the days.

The '42 was said to be 'as steady as the Rock of Gibraltar...and almost as fast....'

...and check out the bar/galley (complete with glasses) on the 'Micro Flight' HP-42. Can you imagine sitting back in your comfortable chair sipping a martini served by the stewards from this bar? Nice!
