I love those ' what if ' repaints. If we had kept a proper carrier force, it's not to difficult to imagine that the Prowler might have been on the FAA inventory. And I've read Grumman E2C Hawkeye in the same sentences as Queen Elizabeth and Prince of Wales recently! ;-)

I've actually no interest in dropping bombs in FS I must admit, I use FS to enjoy flying and operating the machinery itself, if I want to blow things up F4 or LOMAC are both far better alternatives. What interests me more about droppable bombs is the ability to load different stores onto different pylons (pick something and load it directly onto a pylon, not load up a model that has a certain loadout) and have the extra weight and drag simulated automatically without having to faff around with the payload/weight editor in FS and tweak .air and .cfg files. I'm hoping this will be something that becomes far more commonplace in the future, time will tell I guess.

They certainly work for me or I wouldn't have bothered. Besides, who knows what the future holds with JSF and the two new carriers, whilst I doubt we'll see Prowlers as they'll be dead and buried by then it's an interesting concept nonetheless. Expect a whole slew of fictional FAA repaints from me when VRS release their Superbug, and IRIS when they finish the E-2C. :flying:

I've actually just realised I've fired them all off to the big three FS websites and called them 809 rather than 899 NAS. Cue mailbox full of whining spam, but it took me the best part of an hour to get them uploaded and I simply can't be bothered doing it again.

I do like these aircraft, much as I love the \Viking... but only on US decks.... The thought over either on a Brit Carrier sends a cold shiver....

Wouldn't be the first time a Grumman has flown from a RN flight deck, Ben. And given the pitiful home-grown designs we had available to us in 1939, I have to say the Yanks were light years ahead of us when we needed them.

Hats off to ya for those RN skins, to me there's nothing wrong in just having some fun with the sim
and doing what ever you want.
As always you have a choice, if ya don't like it don't download it.

I'd infinitely prefer either over having F-35s on our carriers! Can an effective jet fighter get any uglier? :o

Very true indeed, we never really appreciated the benifits of Naval aviation in the early war years, and the American designs were very robust aircraft.

RE. the F35, I still recogon the Harrier is the better option over the F35... its too big and too complex, I'm really not a fan.
