Did anyone see the Money Programme on the BBC a few weeks back ? They'd spent a year following the reformation of the company, including the repatriation of all the original moulds and the hiring of the bloke who designed most of them (he'd retired). The obvious question was how they planned to make themselves attractive to the play station generation - and they did a test where they gave kids some kits and a play station and let them choose which they liked best ? The near unanimous answer was the Airfix kits

But there again they would say that wouldn't they

Lets hope they can keep the business going this time though - good luck to em CHEERS

Cheers for the HU Tony.
Some crackers there, right enough. I wonder how many of the kits will come from new moulds? I'd imagine that stuff like the Fulmar and Horsa will be repackings of existing kits.
Best wishes

I would think most of those....or at least all the previously issued ones will be straight form the old moulds.
They have the old moulds in the UK and the new stuff is being made in China.
I guess it will be the UK moulds usesd as they are.
Some won't ever re-appear :-(
If anyone like liners and wants a SS France, look hard. The mould is lost/destroyed.

The Nimrod is being released but not on that list as it was previously announced
I very much doubt if a lot of that makes it this year
Too many, like the Nimrod, from last year as still to be issued.
I think most of the run on the Nimrod has been presold as well...............so if you want want one try and get your name down on a modelshop as they are going to be like Hens teeth

I'm sure I read somewhere that Hornby were going to start trying to create "synergy" between the railway products and the Airfix side, ironic seeing as rival Dapol have all the old railside and wagon kit moulds. No idea what that means, and there's not a lot of sign of it this year (other than the Hornby railway range has some new Airfix sourced model people appearing in their range) and seeing Hornby are slowly drifitng away from kit built lineside buildings in favour of the Skaledale resin range, I wonder what alternatives Hornby are planning. I was vainly hoping it might mean some 1/76 or 1/72 airliners, a 1/72 baby BAC1-11 would have been nice, or even a re-release of the Jetstream. Presumably this year is one of consolidation?
That said, I can always find space for another F27 to go alongside my ESCI 1/72 F27 and eventually a Maquette Dart Herald on the ramp of the 1970's Walmington Airport SR model railway layout I'm planning, so long as it is a civillian version and not the modified version they used to do as a maritime reconnaisance aircraft!

It would be nice to have some new models but there is no point in releasing the Jetstream as it is of a type that in the end never existed.
Unless the modify it to a 31.
That would be nice
The F-27 is a nice kit and better than the Esci characature released a few years ago but there are major issues like the fuse depth and the dorsal.
But it does make up into a nice model
