Really looking forward to this one so I can continue onward from Khartoum where I got trapped when I upgraded from FS2002 to FS2004 whilst en-route London-JoBurg via half of Africa in the old FS2000 Comet 1. Unfortunately when I tried it in FS2004 I got the strange undercarriage effect so I'm stuck in Khartoum for the time being! Once I've completed the Comet 1 run I can move onto some of the bus-stop Comet 4 routes, and eventually the VC10 East Africa Rally. Or, if I'm feeling really masochistic, a Colonial Coach service in a Hunting-Clan Viking...

Much as I love the Comet 4, I do enjoy the mournful whistling of the dh Ghost engines which remind me of the sound effect Gerry Anderson used to use in Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet!

Looks "ABSOLUTELY GREAT" so far Jens .... sounds good !

Hopefully everything will be sounding (literally) a lot better later on too ... because I'm currently reworking our ("AEROMUSICA") COMET soundpack escpecially for this new aircraft.

Unless I'm mistaken ( and I may well be), I believe Gerry Anderson used the sound of an old 1960's Hoover vacuum cleaner to produce the engine noise for Thunderbird 2.

The enhanced COMET 1 soundpack should remain "TRUE" to all that .... it'll certainly feature a good whistle and roar as it's redeveloped over comming weeks :)

I promise you it won't sound a bit like a HOOVERMATIC though !

Wouldn't surprise me although our ancient Hoover Junior of that era sounded nothing like anything flying except possibly a Saturn V rocket, it was so noisy I'm sure today it would have to be issued with full Industrial strength ear defenders.

At the risk of going off topic, I also remember we once had a vacuum cleaner called a Goblin. Don't think it was made by de Havilland though.

Re the updated Ghost engines - any chance of a cartridge bang at the beginning of the start sequence? I remember this in the Film 'Sound Barrier' when one of the Test Pilots hitched a lift from Cairo back to Hatfield aboard a Comet 1, and recollect you heard this quite noticeably when she fired up. (Of course, it may have been just a dramatic effect for the Cinema audiences of the day!)
