Never buy a PC, build your own. Tony Madge will back that up!
Spoken like a gentleman..
I think that if I dare buy a pre-bulit PC again it will be built by CB :)
Reason 1 for not buying a pre built PC= you get substandard bits from substandard manufacturers, although Dell seem to be the best of the bunch

Reason 2 for not buying a pre built PC= you end up with Vista.. and thats a no no no no as far as I am concerned, when MS went from 98/millenium to XP its was a progression.. vista is a new ball game with too many pretty things slowing everything to a cripple, bit like FS9 to FSX really :@

Just swopped out a 6200 for the GeForce 8600GT PCI-Express, what a transformation! Sliders all the way to the right and no stutter even with AA on.

Music to my ears Scorpius! Looking forward to mid-week when I can get back in the air, especially with DM's VC-10 :D

Hi...

Just got me a new custom build PC, with Intel 2-core quad CPU, 2 Gb of Kingston DDR3 RAM, Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty Platinum Champion soundboard and a PCI Express nVidia 8800GT Super+ with 1024 Mb DDR3.
Don't want no Vista, have XP SP2 installed. All sliders to the right, My FSX gets FPS between 25 and 50!, FS9 with NL2000 v3 installed and all sliders of NL2000 and FS9 to the max gives me between 35 and 75!
It's fun again to sim!!!!

Grtz.

Agree with you Tony, I used to buy Dell and they were (to my mind) very reliable but........Try upgrading a Dell!!

No way will I ever go for a factory made machine as options for upgrades can be very limited. As for Vista....I will keep going with XP for as long as it is supported by Microsoft and even then may be for a bit longer!!
