1964 Orly - a whole line of Air France Starliners
The occasional Lufthansa L1649 into Heathrow and the even more occasional TWA one with miniscule registrations (oh the woes of a spotter!). :-(
If only I had a camera in those days - the prints might be worth something now.

Seems to me that once upon a time I had a black and white photo courtesy of Dave Welch of a Starliner in Capitol Airlines (Nashville) colours
Anyone confirm that Capitol operated them????

Leif
Can't find any record of Capitol operating Starliners - just plenty of L-1049.
But then one might have sneaked under the radar.

Cheers Ian
AS I remember the photo was taken at Heathrow on the cargo side - and it was a freighter - so it may have been a 1049
......Ever wish you had kept things when you were younger, Dave gave me 6 boxes full of black and white 3x5s he had taken in the late 50s and early 60s - long gone now unfortunatly. If you wonder who he is , He was a regularPhotographic
contributor to Vintage and Veteran Aircraft over the years, and retired from flying Sheds out of Exeter about four years
ago.
