Until recently this was available on CD.It was a recording of a speech given to the Oxford Union on 4th December 1958.There were other gems in it, one of which was extracts from letters from foreign hoteliers in response to bookings

" My hotel offers unparalleled revelations....French widows in every bedroom"

and my particular favourite


" Sorrowfully, I cannot abide your auto"

Sadly, Hoffnung died only 9 months later at the age of 37

Sad about him dying so young.I guess that's why the name was nit familiar......I was only about 18 months old then :-(
