I cannot see BBC clips, as they are only available to UK IP addresses!

However I do remember seeing this (more than once) and John 'Get down Shep' Noakes was a childhood hero of mine. You may not know this, but he was an aircraft engine mechanic in the RAF in the late 50's, doing his National Service.

I remember as a kid going to visit friends of the family in Stroud, not too far away from Kemble.

We used to pop up their and watch 'The Arrows' practising. Across the far side were quite a few Argosies awaiting disposal.

2 Gnats had a head-to-head mid-air there whilst practising the Synchro-Pair routine. Wasn't up there that day, but saw the smoke plume coming up over the hills.

In the mid Seventies it became known as the Kemble Graveyard with aircraft pushed into a corner at odd angle to take up as little space as they could.
