God mate.. that's nowt like the 'Daring' I remember. Almost makes me want to join up again
Always liked the Norfolk shot. There is another one kicking around somewhere taken from overhead which really does show that size isn't everything ;-)

Wait... so those 5 things with fixed wings and dangly things aren't Sea Harriers?
If it's the exercise I'm thinking of they may actually be USMC AV-8Bs as all ours were busy in the 'Stan.

Looking at the hires, I think Skippy is correct. It also explains the one up the ramp with someone getting their piccy taken.

Well they're your airframes, we're breaking them.
Much like the RAF discovering all the Phantom FG.1s they inherited from the Navy had used 30 years of fatigue life in 8.
Bizarrely, thanks to the RM and the NSW at times more than 50% of UK forces in Afghanistan are RN. Thankfully they still don't need any ASuW helicopters out there, if only because we probably couldn't take off.

not quite true, they had 30yrs worth of corrosion,

IIRC first jets through our hangar for the 40FI fatigue life improvement program were ex RAFG FGR2's that had been used as low-level recon/strike bombers

Well exactly, we found a nice man who does to do it for us.
