Usually shows up as a pink or purple hue, some times a gold color, depends if its a film or strip heater.
Nice effect though

some times a gold color
That'll be gold, at least it is in the Lynx. So there's always some scrap value...

thats a shame
& we already have 3 146 models in that sim.
why are so many good modellers scared to move forwards
especially when they model in 3DSMax.
3ds is about half the work of FSDS3 into FSX and i can manage it.
I'll end up building my own at this rate

I can't check as I have little loaded , but did you do the rainbow glass effect on the 748 and perhaps the Argosy, or am I imagining it?
Garry.

Indeed Gold film seems quite popular as a screen heater, I'm not sure what metal they use that gives the purple hues though ?, probably some exotic cocktail made up from the higher end of the periodic table LOL.

You'll probably find that those that have all the information required to complete said project prefer FS9, those that can model in FSx probably dont have the required information to complete the project.
FSx will accept port overs with varying degrees of success, so theres little demand or push for FSx bespoke models in the eyes of quite a few developers I suspect.

Hi Garry
yes mate the Argosy & 748 have rainbow glass and my older turboprops have Dark blue with a purple specular sheen
to give a similar appearance.
Hi Michael
I'm just dissapointed as all these people are going to take years when the next sim arrives if they don't keep up.
so there will be nothing at all free or pay.
I hate portovers with a passion (sorry just me) ;-)
Regards
Rick
