Try using nHancer as recommended by Nick Needham over at Simforums (look in the GEX thread). I use it and everything appears to work as it should. Use nHancer instead of the Nvidia control panel and FSX settings - set a profile as per Nick's recommendation and see how that goes. nHancer also a large number of preinstalled profiles for many games. Note that as the name suggests this software is for use with Nvidia cards only.
