I get the "cannot display model" error, followed by an invisible aircraft.

Not sure which FSDS it was made with. I'm guessing it's earlier than 3.5 though.

oops! Yep, definately sounds like a very early FSDS. Strange one though, as the really early Rick stuff works ok (in that it displays the model)

Hi guys - sorry about that - yes it was orginally built for FS2002 and although it still flies pretty well in FS9 it wont show up in FSX.
