DanKH...I was shooting in the World Practical Pistol Championships in Rhodesia (which was at war then).
markw...I was doing the same thing again but this time in South Africa.
Even at that young age I was really too old for that caper and came nowhere significant in the results...But I just loved taking part
Wishing you both a very Happy Birthday and hoping you have exciting experiences this year :flying:
Peter was that the time a bullet nearly took of somebodies hat?
some ricochet shot or something like that?

This is the first time that I can recall two Forum Members' birthdays on the same day......On the other hand it may not be....Just that I am older and have more senior moments than before.
Oh sorry, just remembered what this thread is about.......Happy birthday to both of you!!
Regards
Nigel

Thanks guys, and congrats to you too Mark.
I dunno about grumpiness, but has my wife use to say: "oh no, already this time of the year...?" "now thw last part of year is only downhill"..
Well aren't we having fun!
We spend the day celebrating our dear old dement grand mother at her 93th ! So I still think theres hope for some of us ... even though she no longer capable of remembering anything older than 1.3 seconds ago.
But we still meet once a year an drinks her wine .... ;-)

Recipricated Dan, happy what's left of Burns Night and Dydd St Dwinwen (the Welsh St Valentine's Day which is today).
Of course, 1963 didn't just host my first take-off (almost literally as my mother was having problems getting to the maternity wing due to all the snow and ice so I nearly dropped onto an icy pavement...) but also that of the BAC1-11, another noisy, temperamental and tubby looking old thing!

Apologies for thread distraction
