Three main points.
1: Brundle used the comparison of a 'professional dive' as in football - in other words, cheating. This is because of attempting to create the impression of something that didn't happen. (One reason I went off football a while ago - sports like Rugby,Darts, Snooker and (generally) motorsport it's a lot harder or impossible to get away with cheating per se, even if there are dodgy decisions in some at times.
2: It appears they were 'in fear' of Hambo being penalised for passing Trulli, and Ryan instructed Hambo to 'toe the line'. Unless Ryan comes out in public, we won't really know the true reason behind this, since after all they were in the right to begin with. Perhaps paranoia at all the hassle they have had (either way) with the FIA previously. Basically, they should have said 'We were unsure and so told Hambo the let Trulli repass.' - but they didn't.
3: I've no idea how it will go with Hambo himself, or how he answered questions put to him. Whatever the FIA decide, the 'only following orders' line is pretty irrelevant I'd say - if Schumacher argued that he was told to collide with villeneueve at Jerez, would it make any difference?
That said, how the FIA will deal with it remains to be seen.
