RAF Lyneham to Close?

I went to Benson on a school careers trip. They flew Argosies then, so Hercs should be no problem. But seeing all these bases close and the uncertain world we are living in seems a bit shortsighted to me.

Indeed! I've heard tell of a QF Andover under wraps in some dark corner of one of their hangars but I doubt it's true :think:

Lyneham has a much more squarer ramp and seems to look bigger.

Depends on how in date pictures and maps you look at - much of the north east corner of Brize will soon be all apron.

This was music to most of RAF Benson. 'Belvadire' won't be going ahead, which means we might actually be allowed to have some money to upgrade the base. No more potholes around camp, the Sgts Mess getting a long overdue upgrade and maybe we could have some more personnel for the helicopter world (Doubt it though as the third tranche of Eurofighters are clearly the future of the air force :@ :@ :@ )
