Hi,
I've just been reading back through the 'HS748 in FSX' thread and someone commented there about high temps. If you're loading the 748/780 from a saved flight you may get the high temps. Load from a default a/c and then swap to 748/780 should clear the problem. Not tried myself but worth a go.

Just taken the 780 from Sydenham over to IOM, she's siting almost exactly on 770. My default aircraft is the autotrike (or whatever its called) and then change my aircraft before starting the flight.
Could you be running an old cab file maybe? :think:

I seem to remember trying another Dart powered aircraft in the FSX demo; and getting a very high TGT. :think:
Given that the 780 hasn't had an FSX update and as such shouldn't be correctly panel startable, could it be that the starter is engaged? Check the ignition lamps on the pedestal; if any are on the starter is engaged and high temps will result. ;-)

I run FSX with Acceleration under Vista 64 as well. And the HS 748 is perhaps my most used aeoplane, and I've not seen anything awry with the temperatures in these circumstances. Admittedly I've not put the Andover into FSX so can't comment about that.
What I've noticed is that the temps seem to be fine. During warm flights I have to trim down some, but generally never less than 60% until I start the descent, and only then as it's the recommended course of action. So as far as the 748 is concerned I think we can rule out FSX in Vista 64.

Being a boring fart and also using FS9.1 is it not possible to have a flight without trimming etc , what I mean is a simplified sit in and fly panle, ok I know thats not authentic but I like to do t/o's and landings when I am short of time rather than a long leg with one take off and landing, soa simple fire it up and not worry about temps trimming etc is what I look for. I know I am a bit of a dinosaur and Mark C at HJG keeps getting me to try the more complex panels but I run a mile

It's possible Tony mate, but I just don't have the time or inclination to do it
It's hard enough keeping "realistic" panels up to date without having "easy" and "advanced" versions. If I cut down on realism I get hammered (which can be welcome) by experts telling me my pneumatic de-icer sequence is 2 seconds out,
otherwise I'm told it's too complex.
My mission statemate when I got involved in all this caper was that I make panels for me, and if someone else enjoys them , well that's a bonus. ;-)
I guess the message is that if anyone is dissatisfied and would prefer a different setup, do what I did and learn how to program it to your needs

The fuel trim is very easy Tony, and to be honest needs very little tweeking on UK flights. Its only a few clicks and give you something to do

I generally load up the 748 from the Free Flight page, I haven't bothered with starting with a default plane for a long time.
HOWEVER, I forgot to mention in my earlier post that before I do anything else once loaded I select the 2D panel, and then return to the VC. That sets all the VC switches correctly and allows me to do startup, taxi, take-off, climb, cruise, descent, landing, taxi and shut down all from the VC with no problems whatsoever. Well... Other than probelms due to my own incompetence in flying... :o
