I'm going to be there on Sunday, with the vRAF. Hoping to do a flypast online later today, once we get the ok from the organisers. I'm just not loking forward to the 2-hour drive. :-(
Never mind, should be worth it.

Re: Wet weekend....go to Weston Super Mare
I went along for a hour or two on Saturday afternoon and it was all a little beyond me (never been to a sim show before). Plenty to look at and had some interesting conversations (particularly with the chap at ivao). An enjoyable visit.
On a personal note....if the person who found my mobile phone in the car park and dropped it into the Museum is reading this....THANK YOU VERY MUCH INDEED!! Going back on Wednesday to go and collect it. I got as far home as Taunton and decided to stop for a meal and 'ummm where's my phone'. My friend dialled it twice and there was no reply. Upon getting home to Cornwall, I tried the number from home and the Museum rang back. Brilliant news....its not just the phone, its all those numbers on it. Thanks again.
Does anyone know what the helicopter rides were in, as I'm a bit of a typecollector (thought it was a Jetranger which I've already got), but when we left a Bo105 was flying around the Museum. That would have been one for the list.
Best wishes,
Martin

Re: Wet weekend....go to Weston Super Mare
Hi Guys
I really wanted to go to this one but it's too far from here to do both ways in one day without being broke and too knackered :-(
Had hoped to have moved by now but the housing market here is still dead and my chain fell though with last buyer as they where refused a mortgauge for only 30 grand to step up to mine!
Looking forward to moving to Dorset if it ever happens
Mr B will only be 45 minutes away instead of the current 2.5 hours as i have the M25 in the middle currently.
the only usefull thing here is Duxford is only 50 mins away but have done that one so many times now it's losing it's novelty
Regards
Rick

Re: Wet weekend....go to Weston Super Mare
Fingers crossed for you, Rick! Dorset's my favourite County. I've read all the Thomas Hardy Wessex novels (some of them twice) and much of rural Dorset hasn't changed at all. I'm lucky enough to work on a railway line that runs through Somerset and Dorset to Weymouth and it's like stepping back in time. There are three tiny 'halts' which are request stops, there are semaphore signals and single track lines with passing places and tokens. One of my greatest pleasures is to sit in the back cab on a dawn run and watch the wildlife as the sun comes up. It's a beautiful and ancient place. I'd love to live there.Rick Piper wrote:Looking forward to moving to Dorset if it ever happens
