You'd be suprised whats available software/driver for both 64 bit and now Win 7!
Downfalls to 64 bit machines??? Other than the pain to make sure you choose 64 bit (used to it now as ive had 64 bit since using vista) and the cost to use more than 4 Gig of RAM for use in 64 bit O/S...

had to look that up!
Well I ordered three copies - it's the only way I'm ever going to move beyond XP/Vista legally. Buying a new PC with it installed is never going to be an option.

I agree Ian. If I'm ever to move up and out of XP, the only way that's gonna happen is by M$ offering a sensible upgrade path and £44-£45 is a good start. I can't be doing with the trauma (or expense) at the moment but should I build a new pc.. Win7 is very probably what I'll go for ;-)

Hmmm, Amazon already "sold out".
@DaveB - it's the use of the full 4Gb RAM that is tempting me - I read that 32bit and 64bit are in the box - obviously only one can be used.

Y e s.. but as I only have 2gig in the likely candiate, that isn't going to help (though I can see it being used to tempt me in future)
Traditionally, only the FULL 4gig has been seen by the 64-bit OS unless I've had another memory lapse (probable). It's a no-brainer for me at the moment as I'm not in the market but.. remember those dodgy 20p's that don't have a date.. guess who had one handed over in change this evening!!
Knowing my luck.. mine'll be worth 10p

It states on the blurb this is a full install not an upgrade. No web browser. Does that mean everything has to be re-installed once Windows 7 is installed.

Ok I thinking about trying the Win 7 Release Candidate. Now two questions.
1: I dont want to lose XP can I run both and how do I do it
2: My Dad has Vista on his laptop that runs around like David Blunkett in a game of hide and seek..nothing happens fast... So again can I try win 7 on his but keep Vista just in case he dont like it...you know what the old uns are like!!
