It was a microlight, presumably a pusher.
Isidoro the passenger with the job of throwing the bouquet is a bloke not a woman as reported by the beeb. He suffered head and face injuries and fractured both legs. The pilot was less seriously injured. I wonder if the photographer got it, I haven't seen any pictures as yet.
There is this though: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/in_depth/8150639.stm A "double decker sports plane" no less doing a very strange "loop the loop".

Thinking about it "double decker" could be a literal translation from German, not a good excuse though.
