Brian, thanks so much for posting this link. I have only just got around to trying it and it is a fantastic aircraft. I certainly agree with your "amazing" comment.

I had trouble at first with climb performance above 25,000 ft - speed would decay until you had to level off or descend. Then I discovered a fix online for the aircraft.file:

[TurbineEngineData]
fuel_flow_gain =0.0025
inlet_area =1.4000 //was 4.4000
rated_N2_rpm =29920
static_thrust =3500
afterburner_available =0
reverser_available =1

Changing the inlet_area parameter as per above fixed the issue. If anyone is having problems with the climb performance, try that fix.

Thanks for the climb rate fix, Nigel. She climbs like a home-sick angel, now. :)

Cheers for that. I've only done a few circuits with her up to now, but that will come in handy :D

Apparently that inlet_area =4.4000 was a mistake in the aircraft.cfg file because if you check the falcon50.air file the value in record 1501 for "Intake throat area (sq,ft)" is 1.400. The incorrect value in the original aircraft.cfg file would overide this.

I was intially leery of making that change but after I found the enrty in the .air file, my hesitation vanished.

Hi Jim,

Not a jet, but try Milton Shupe's Beech 18 http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?Ca ... DLID=69176.

You can even fly it in a 'hame strip' :D http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?Ca ... DLID=71201

Yours aye,

Colin

Yikes! Looks like the website has been updated. I hate to post a direct link but here is another copy of the updated Falcon 50.
