Hi Nigel,

I bought Kaspersky at the start of the year... best bet is on Amazon as its only about £20 TBH I hate it. I have used it for 9 months but it drove me nuts so i've binned it.

That's strange, my Kaspersky is OK, not had any problems with it but that does not mean to say if it works fine for one it works fines for all.

Regards
Nigel.

Yep Nigel, horses for courses. I tried it for a month before buying it and thought it was ok... £17.99 from amazon... but I ended up hating it, found it really intrusive, certainly compaired with McAfee or Trend. The later two have some sort of database for most applications you install that automaticly check if they are safe etc, by Kaspersky was prompting every 5 minutes. If an install had multiple components it would prompt at each component, so I nded up hating it.

Yo-de-do :hello:

It all depends on what you do I guess. I have Kaspersky09 (I had 08 too) because I don't find it intrusive. The only way I know it's working is it updates in the systray when I turn the PC on. Other than that.. I never see it. This said.. it's NOT Internet Security.. it's the AV. :)

I've used Kaspersky for around 9 months now, and am quite happy with it. Of course it helps that I got it for nowt  Barclays online banking customers can get a 3-PC licence free for a year ;)

One could be swayed by that sort of offer

Any thoughts about this? Anyone seen any comparisons?

I've used Avast for years and find it trouble free and non-intrusive. I certainly would not change to anything else :)

I use AVG 8 and had a mssage saying it would be replaced 01 Dec and offered to upgrade but I saw no free version.

I wonder if one will reappear on that date??

Garry..

I think you can using it for as long as you like mate. The only drawback is that it won't be the latest AV engine and support for it (autoupdates) may stop when the new version is released.
