There was a J3 that did the airhow rounds in the 60s and 70s with a second undercarriage above the cabn -- and it was landed upside down -- I believe (and Chris will probably know as its his part of the world) That Red Cherry had it down at laFayette Louisiana back then.the "Cub on a Car" was for many years a staple at airshows until the FAA put a stop to it.

There've been several "wheels on top" planes over the years. There's a picture at KLNC of a CV-172/35B-121 (as they called it) that
Air Salvage of Dallas put together out of a Beech V-35B (tail), a C-172 (fuselage), and a Piper PA-28-121 Cherokee (wing). They put the wing on the Cessna inverted so it retained its landing gear and locked the flaps.
Was quite a contraption. Flew twice and then they properly scrapped it.
Also, the Jelly Belly plane still does the landing on the RV trick.
