Still three missing from the list

One is a development form a listed type, another is a different type form the same frame as one mentioned and the other was the first Vickers aeroplane to fly with Darts.

Projects still lacking :worried:

Hi Chris

The Turboprop Meteor had Trents which was basically a reduction gear and 5 bladed prop stuck onto it's standard jet engines.

OK Garry I've cheated and looked it up! The other Vickers one was the Wellington - the FIRST type to be exclusively powered by the Dart.

OK the two missing from the main list is

Fairchild FH-227

Conroy Turbo Three

Three that were nearly built

AW Air Ferry double deck fixed gear version of the Argosy...

Carvair 7......A Carvair using a DC 7

And the conversion that was to take place before the airline change direction and bought VIscounts???

BMA were going to have their three Canadair C-4 (Argonaugt) converted as the airframes were good and had many years left but the engines were likely to bankcrupt the airline. With only a maximum or three possible....they were the only ones left..... and the possibilty of buying as many Viscounts as they wanted, changed all that.
