Crikey mate.. 5fps

I think a more accurate word would be 'displays' rather than runs
I'd have thought you'd get much better than that with a dualcore 3ghz and 512mb 7600. My old XP3200 (2.2ghz in real money) used to zip it around at 30fps though granted, not with the sliders maxed. Maybe it's a laptop thing
Ah well.. needs must when the devil drives

nope, nothing I do works. I get 60FPS with Fs9, maxed, but FSX just stutters, sometimes, and it is only sometimes, in a baron area, i can get 20fps, but round an airfiled, it is max 9fps.

Sheesh.. I don't know how you tolerate that mate. While 9fps in FSX isn't quite as bad as 9fps in FS9, it's still pretty dire. Are you tooled up with all the SP's for it?? I guess you probably have ACCEL which
should make it run ok. Out of the box, it was stuttery as hell on my 3200.. little better with SP1 but SP2 made it acceptable.
It's one of those things you can fart around with for ages and never hit a sweet spot

to be honest, i dont use fSX. I develop for it, which is why i have it on my system, to test the likes of the puma. For pure flying, i stick to FS9
