Brrr, going down to -8C tonight but the good news is that by Wednesday the daytime high may hit 6C, :excited: which is about normal for the daytime high here in January. It will feel like a heat wave since it did not get above freezing again today. Hopefully, the jet stream will change it's pattern and some warmer air may reach you in the UK.

Right now it's -6c here, which is the warmest it's been all year. The weather service hint that it will be more of the same for most of the week. Should almost be warm enough to go running outside.

We currently have +2.4 with no wind and chill factor of +2.1 against the day before yesterday when it was +1 with a chill factor of -9 in a force 7 wind and every gap was found and I was sitting with the heating up, fully dressed with a dressing gown and quilt over me yet my hands were still too cold to use the keyboard properly :'(

So it seems quite warm now...especially without the draft

True to say it would be a very expensive undertaking for UK councils to set up snow clearing equipment that would stand idle for years, over here severe weather is just something normal and we take it for granted each year. with any sizable snow fall the highways are cleared using 3 massive ploughs side by side, followed by huge snow blowers that shoot the snow into trucks and voila!! it's gone.
Although this year it's mandatory to fit your car with snow tyres before mid Dec, some people were still using all season tyres which caused too many accidents.

Strange weather over here too chaps, Saturday night it was down to -23c, they forcast the same for Sunday night, but it stayed quite mild at -7c all night, b****er, I put the horses in the barn for the night and this morning I had to spend an extra hour cleaning thier stalls.

Put a few more layers on Garry!, and happy new year

Robbie.
