Classic British Flight Sim

Heh, I've seen some cyclists staying upright on the bike with both feet on the pedals whilst stationary at the lights...... how the hell do they do that?

I could do it briefly when I had squreish cross section tyres

I got rid of those and put slicks on as there was too much drag.

Unfortunately, it's the poor man's version and not the £4,000 Titanium one! But as long as I don't stop nobody will know. (Pedals would have been nice too, but you can't have everything)

I've had a couple of good rides already this Spring and I'm determined to get my money's worth before my bones finally crumble

Great choice Ian. Lovely bike.

As for the £4k option. Take it from one who has had ridiculously expensive bikes.

They are good but don't make you go any faster. Many buy them just for the pose factor.

Many cheaper variants do just as good a job for half the money.

My current bike is half the price of my last one and does everything the silly priced one's do.

Great pics! I'm extremely jealous as the off-road trails here aren't in any shape to be ridden upon. With the heavy snows up in the northern part of the state, the rivers here are up. My favorite trails are currently under water.

Steel's an unusual choice nowadays but I think it's more forgiving nature will suit my gentler riding style ! It's only a pound or so heavier than the equivalent aluminium bike. And I just love the retro look of the frame. It looks like a ... bike?

And for the uninformed, I should mention that it's as close to classic British as you can get in a new bike! It's built in the Cotswolds and designed specifically for British riding conditions (as opposed to Californian!). The frame is made from Reynolds 631 tubing which anybody who knows anything about British engineering over the last 50 years will speak of in the same breath as Whitworth (and sledge hammers ). The Whyte company was formed by the British Formula 1 suspension designer, Jon Whyte, and what amuses me is that with a F1 design background it comes out looking like a bicycle. Whereas many modern bikes designed by bike designers end up looking like F1 cars
