One more note Pete...To find the altitude of the plateau around your Binbrook, get the default Cessna and move it to Binbrook with "Goto Airfield". Now slew it up onto the plateau and set it down with slew OFF (F1 followed by Y).

Press Shft Z once to get the red print at the top of the screen and NOTE the altitude in the red print. Subtract 3.7 feet from that figure and the result is the altitude of the ground the Cessna is standing on...This is also the altitude you should set in the AFCAD to make an airport there. The airport taxiways will also flatten the ground to this same figure.

I set off for the museum armed with your instructions, fully intending to try out your suggestion. It was only when I sat down at the sim's computer that I realised it didn't have AFCAD installed and I'd not thought to bring it with me - I think it's an age thing! However, I had remembered to bring along a txt file with the flatten line in it and, having pasted it into the scenery.cfg, it seems to work rather well.

The only side effect I can see is a rather sharp-faced escarpment to the west of the field where the boundary of the flatten area obviously cuts through a line of hills. As the ground to the east of Binbrook seems to be naturally flat, this one oddity doesn't seem too intrusive. As Binbrook will only be used for its QRA shed and AI Lightnings during one of our occasional evening 'specials' - during the day visitors will get a 15 minute slot operating from Tangmere - I think we'll probably run with the flatten line at least for the moment, especially as we're getting close to the opening date for the general public. However, I will install AFCAD on the simulator machine and I have your instructions so, if problems occur with the flatten method, I've got them as a fall back.
