I think whoever thought the idea up for those men up deserves a bit of a pat on the back. Must have been wonderful ( or maybe saddening, who knows ) to look through the 'perspex' and see a Spitfire and Hurricane on your wing again.

It's always been known that the Hurri was the star of the BoB because there were more of them....BUT, when I was at the Kemble airshow this year, the commentator said that recent evidence would suggest that was not the case, but annoyingly, I can't remember what he said next as to why.

Shall have to see if there's any of Kemble on Youtube with that commentry....

The Hurricane was better for training as it had a wide track undercarriage, making landing easier.

Look out for upcoming BBC programmes on the BoB in September....
