Garry, Darren...if you read the report, you'll see its not theory or hindsight, but what Lightoller was actually told had happened during a meeting of senior officers shortly before the ship went down. He kept that knowledge to himself to protect the White Star line from accusations of negligence, and only ever told his wife.

Coming from the most senior officer to survive the disaster, who had been informed of events on the bridge leading up to the collision, I think its a bit more concrete than mere speculation, isn't it ?

I was reading about this yesterday

It is what it is said Lightholler had said in private .....it's not first hand from the man himself.
We don't actually know if that's true :dunno:

Well, after almost 100 years, the revelation comes via only two closely connected people; his wife and grandaughter. Hardly chinese whispers, I would have thought.

Anyway, probably is a rubbish sim. Never really saw the point of Ship Simulator..SimShipowner would be good, but not just sailing around on the ship itself.
