Eerrrrrr... Is it just me or does anyone else see the slight opposite deflection of what look like ailerons on the outside trailing edges of the wings? Now that looks like control surface maveouvring to me.

Yes, I noticed that too...but it's a bit much to expect today's "reporters" to know the difference between a flap and an aileron/elevator/rudder or to even take the trouble to find out.
The story did seem to be using 'flapless' in a very generic sense (and it does seem to be some sort of UAV).

I think you will find that the DEMON has both conventional and the new fangled control system as mentioned in

DEMON successfully demonstrated flapless flight when, for a planned portion of a test-flight, the conventional flap control system was turned off and the aircraft flew and manoeuvred using the new technology.
Sort of belt & braces until they get the hang of it (note my technical phraseology).
