Just checked the pics out.

Different construction numbers for the airframes. Seems the rego has been used more than once before on a 748.

Not uncommon with US registrations

These are also different marks of 748 which help to give it away in this case but not always

Two V.745D Viscounts wore N7415 for example.....so only the c/n is of use there

This is why aircraft are tracked by their c/n :)

Having grown up under Bensons glidepath, I got to know the Dart sound intimately.

The Andover CC.2s (strange) prop/engine sound combination on climb out was quite haunting, while the E.3s (C.1s) had bigger props producing a lower pitch and sounding more harmonised.

On finals, the E.3s had more of the high pitched shrilly sound Dave was refering to, than the CC.2 did, and so were slightly louder...More compressors in the Dart 12?
