A few years ago, Jersey was closed due to a house fire on the last stages of final

A lot of folks thought it was due to the extensive smoke but the reason was something ease. There were gas cylinders and they were afraid the an overflying aircraft might be unlucky enough to pass over as one went off, and of course there was the possibility that the vibration could actually trigger one about the blow..

It cylinder can go high enough to have struck an aircraft at that stage.

Hmmm, I know who was scrapping that. I shalln't name names. At least one forum member was also present, you can guess who that was. I think somehow it hadn't been quite fully defuelled all those years ago from what I was told.
