Interesting thread. I wonder regarding the operational lives of our modern aircraft and how much mileage we can get out of them with a typical Charter airline.

Then I have a scan at Airliners and see that the Russians are more than happy to continue operating old classics such as the Tu-134 and IL-18 in everyday operational passenger service. Many of which have 40+yrs service under their belt.

Now thats value for money. :thumbsup:

You can't accuse them of Russian into any replacements :lol:

A lack of re investment capital is probably behind that *-)

The very best of the three, by far was G-APEM and that was the one that was scrapped, simply because she contained more useful spares and so gave the better chance of keeping the two other flying.
