Best, ;)

I've never yet been there, but here in your neighbouring country, I pass through the wonderfully named "Wankdorf" on the way to Bern on the train. You do wonder if people ever think about what a name might mean in another language. There's a garage or some kind of technical workshop not far from me called "A.S.S. Service" :-O

Place names will go back perhaps centuries where as the awareness of other languages is very recent.

Also phrases change with generations...this could mean nothing in 50 years

True, there's probably somewhere called "Damn" that might have been construed to have been highly offensive, pre-Clark Gable.

You always run the risk of one day visiting an obscure part of the World where saying your name could cause the whole room to roll about laughing

Yes.. or the opposite! I remember being at a footie match in Portugal many moons ago and shouting out (as one does) 'that was a corner ref'! After noticing a number of glares in my general direction, I was informed by one of the locals I'd gone with that 'corner' in Portuguese is a rather gutteresque word for a womans reproductive organs (the 'C' word in English) :-O I thought it best not to comment on any aspect of the game from that moment on

Best not to speculate on the name of the town at the other end. :worried:
