Airspeed, I think somewhere along the line you missed the Firefox offer to save the password or clicked do not save.
Go to Firefox tools/options/security/ in the remember passwords bit make sure remember passwords for sites is ticked. click the exceptions switch in the passwords bit and see if
www.cbfsim.org is in that exceptions box if it is delete it.
Hopefully it should give you the opportunity to save the password in Firefox since it is not me doing it I leave it up to you to decide if you want to try it.

Saving password is something else sureley??
I always use that option on site which means typing in my username brings up the password, but that's different to auto log on

Garry I get straight in with no problems and the same with other sites and put it down to that.
As you say try deleting CBFS cookie first is a good plot before editing.

Again, thanks Rich,
Double checked all this. The remember passwords is ticked, there are no exceptions. In CBFS, when I double click the name box, I get a drop down list including my user name, and when that's entered, the password auto fills. It's not a giant problem, but I just thought "Automatically log me in each visit" would immediately put me in when I arrived at the site.

Hi All,
As Garry says, getting your browser to remember passwords is a different thing altogether. PhpBB forums place a cookie in your cache if you want to remember password and automaticly login. As no one else is having the problem I'm thinking its something at the remote end, perhaps your AV software is clearing the cookie or something?
All the best,
Ben.

Pardon my firefox ignorance, but I know in Opera there is a 'delete cookies on exit' option. So when I want to keep a cookie I have to untick it, close the browser, re-open it and put the tick back.
