Very, very, sad news. Thoughts go out to his family and friends.

What a great loss to his family and friends, he was no age and was always helpful.
Another good man departs this earth :(

What sad and shocking news. Leif always came across as a hugely likeable bloke who was always so helpful. How terrible, thoughts are with his family.

I was quite shocked when I spotted this on FB, I think it was just his dates appearing in his profile image. I chatted to him quite a lot a few yars ago when I was more active in flight simming, great, interesting guy and I know he cared deeply about his young son :(

I'm probably not the best person to ask for advice in the case of bereavements, and so would like the opinion of others on here. Do you think it would be a nice idea to send his wife a link to this thread so she can see how many people here knew Leif and spent time in our "little virtual FS world" with him?

I think that would be an excellent idea,Toby. She might not want to look right now, but in time it may bring a her a little happiness to know how well he was liked here.

I like the idea Toby. Maybe we should leave it a few weeks though? I've never been very good with these kind of things. I just really feel for his wee son. I know Leif absolutely loved his father. its just very difficult to know what to say.

Totally stunned! He helped me find my way when I stared with FS modelling and was the hub of the design groups over at britsm.

I really regret not having finished the luton for him to see, he would have enjoyed it.

Yes, he was truly inspirational, getting people to create aircraft & scenery that they would probably never have thought of doing themselves. Most of my small amount of creations were inspired ( nagged on?) by Leif. We were only commenting the other day that I probably worked with his father on the C5A Galaxy wing in Southall in the '60's.
He will be sadly missed.
Rest well Leif.
Sincere condolences to Stacey & to Tag.

Echoed Keith.
Having seen some of my early efforts, he encouraged me to keep building and improving and persuaded me to publish.
Nothing more I feel like saying at present except I've lost a personal friend there.
