Flicking switches (in-flight) has gotten me into trouble more times than I care to remember.

I now pay particular care
not to flick the switches that have little red covers over them.

A bit like the first time I tried in flight engine shut downs in my Britannia
Shut down one, then another, then wondered if it would fly on one...at that weight it should....just as long as I didn't let the speed drop off and a bit of extra height to gain speed would have been nice
Then I realised I'd not read up how to restart them.....I did make it back...just ,but I had found myself ten miles from the runway at 3,000 facing the wrong way on one engine

......a
very gentle turn was made

I would have thought the best thing to do, if one is having trouble flying a Russian plane is to hire a good mate to be Captain for a while and get yourself in as the co-pilot. Meanwhile, you get someone else to re-engineer the plane the way you would like it to start up (and re-write the manuals accordingly) and then you can return as Captain after a couple of years. Simples.

If you have used to fly Airbus and Boeings (even old 707 or even A2A Stratocruiser) , and you wanna fly Tupolev afterwarsds...Then forget everything you have learnt
Their pressurization, startup, avionics and sequence have no single similarity with others I aforementioned. It took me 5 minutes to get ready for startup, wheras its 2-3 minutes in my 727 when done slowly.
This should have shared cockpit function, then someone could assist at Engineering whereas other does cockpit work lol.
You literally cant fly this alone in FS...
