The picture background is just that, a picture background. If you select a theme this will change from Classic (which is a theme) to whichever them you select. The trick is to select classic and then change the background picture, not the theme. To do this, select the "Windows Classic" theme. once that is applied, at the very bottom of the theme selection Window are for icons; Desktop Background, Window colour, Sounds, and Screen Saver. To change the background picture, select "Desktop Background" then select the location of the picture from the drop down list and put a check nect to the picture (or pictures if you want them to change at an interval) that you want and click save changes. thats it

HI Ben
I'll keep trying for now
I don't mlike this priviage thing, it's a pain to change anything.
I'll start by getting the wallpaper up as looking at a blank screen is giving me a mega headache...On XP you can use Classic view with the themes set up for XP,W7 makes this more difficult
Can the administrator privilage be universally disabled?

Re: Windows 7
Where are you having problems with the administrator popup. I never see it (actually, thats not true, only if I run a defrag from a command line)
You can create themes in Win 7, so lets say you like classic, select that, then add the picture (or pictures) you want for a back ground and it will show as "unsaved theme" Right click and select Save Theme and call it something you like

Re: Windows 7
Hi Ben
The admin thing is like when people can't change the CFG as they need to be logged in as administrator or something
I don't know how it works but it is stopping me from changing folder names or accessing FS.X
I loaded into a folder that was not default and can't run Ir as it is not in the programme list there is no desktop short cut and when I open the folder where it is only the FS.X log is visible to me so I can't get to the .exe to run it, (or make a shortcut)
All this is stuff that doesn't happen with XP or before and the reason I don't want Windows 7
I know a lot of this is done for security but I've not asked for it and I don't want it
All I want to do is load the programmes and get on with it I don't want all this cr@p

Re: Windows 7
It sounds like the folder you have selected is still within the default Path. TBH I'd reinstall it to a different drive if you can? Other option is to switch off UAC. Go to the Control panel and in the search box in the top right hand corner, type "UAC" and you will see "Action Center" Change User Account Control Settings. Click on this and adjust the slidder to the bottom
Ben.

Re: Windows 7
Good Stuff Garry. If your rebuilding again at some point, its best practice to put FS on its own drive (as this solves any of the popups)
